LAF's Child Care & Support Programme (Junior Programme) focuses on improving the welfare, health, and educational outcomes of vulnerable children, particularly orphans and children from disadvantaged families. We believe every child deserves protection, love, and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Our programme works closely with families, community leaders, and government child protection services to identify at-risk children and connect them with the comprehensive support they need to thrive.

Facilitating enrollment and retention of out-of-school children.
Foster Family Support
Training and supporting foster families to provide safe, nurturing environments.
Short-Term Goals
- Identify and support 300 at-risk children
- Establish child-friendly safe spaces in 3 communities
- Train 100 caregivers on child protection
- Enroll 200 out-of-school children
Long-Term Goals
- Eliminate child labor and abuse in target communities
- Achieve 100% school enrollment for children under 18
- Build strong community-based child protection systems
- Ensure every orphaned child has a safe, nurturing home

Facilitating open forums and 'Women Barazas' to address root causes of vulnerabilities and promote shared learning.

Training peer educators, 'Male Champions', and youth ambassadors to cascade knowledge throughout the region.

Collaborating with county governments, health facilities, and faith-based organizations to ensure sustainable impact.
Who We Serve
Our focus is squarely on the most marginalized and hard-to-reach populations in the Lake Victoria Region.
- Geographic Focus: Homabay town, Karachuonyo, Kasipul Kabondo, Rangwe, Suba North and South.
- Vulnerable Groups: Single parents, orphans, street children, and youth.
- Living Conditions: Informal settlements, slums, and rural semi-urban areas.
